My Story

Words from Richard (Richie)

Always be thankful and praise the lord” for he knows every hair on our head and knew us before we made the journey to our mothers womb and were born. God blesses me, my family, my customers and my community every day. For that I am thankful and sing with joy, so if you hear me humming a song, I’m praising our Lord God.

My past has vastly influenced my mindset to achieve a better life for me and my family, when I was a young man I learned what it meant to work hard and achieve concrete Goals that mattered.

My Goals

   •  Repurpose and recycle good used items.
   •  Operate as environmentally friendly as possible
   •  Continue to be pillar in the community and help and serve our clients and fellow neighbors.
   •  Bring trust and confidence in all we do, and let my faith in God shine its light as a beacon.
   •  Serve the community and treat all with dignity and respect.
   •  Provide great prices, amazing items and offer affordability to our local community residents.
   •  Offer outreach services and contribute as needed to local community programs.

A little about me…

Working with physical disabilities Richard managed a large scale American Thrift business that had over 10,000 square feet within its retail location, the business was a Thrift store located on John F. Kennedy Blvd in Union City, NJ. Working at this location for 33 plus years. The establishment existed until one day a very large fire consumed the location, we praise God that no lives were lost in the fire.

Richard had started working hard at a young age, he grew exponentially as he learned everything. He learned all of the knowledge he needed to succeed. He worked diligently with corporate appointed Administrators for the large non-profit, most of the times these Administrators were not able to see their errors. Richard had a keen eye and noticed every wrong move so that he would not duplicate the errors that he was witness to.

Richard knew how to work with the community and the customers and was able to build a solid customer base for his business, Richard stood up to the evil he had seen with is own eyes. Courageously he fought to make a difference in his community.

Richard made everything connect and formed a very successful business in a very harsh environment. Lived and worked every day with Jesus Christ by his side and in his heart. By using the Lords guidance and teaching. Richard was able to do the most good, always thankful and grateful for the Lords Blessings.  He brought sustainable management into all daily operations.

Slowly he became an asset in the community. Building a business and making it financially successful, a business built on honesty and integrity. Well Loved and known in the community for living a life of giving and community service.

Sadly and with a lot of tears cried, a huge disaster, a fire at the thrift store pushed Richard to contemplate his next move and venture. Like the Phoenix out of the ashes a new and better Thrift Store was built completely managed now solely by Richard .

Richard is now the proud owner and proprietor of “Thrift Store Donation Center” located at 905 Paterson Plank Rd, North Bergen, NJ 07047
